YOU / Poem By Gerald Blanchard

offerings

If you only knew my mind, awake.
Lured myself to a dream. See that strangers
shadow. With the glowing eyes.
Spells overtook me, burned myself.

(sighs)

Smell strange aromas, wrote down memories.
Walking and looking. Busy sounds. Motions, bodies
erupting. Last whisper on the mind, went to his place.
Where I felt adored.

(sighs)

Energies stored. Stole them, selfish. Forever mine.
Evening, nothing to do. Try and find more souls.
Make you feel good, boots clicking, jeans tight
Another night.

(sighs

Magic is my interest. It is present when two meet.
A connection, eye glances. Certain pull.
To the depths. Of us. In this moment. This is
Mystical. You want me to want this too.

(sighs)

Forever, but darling. This only lasts for an hour.
Fantasy Brain. Burning under the sun, I imagine us all.
They’re all lies, want to tell you all my stories.
We love love stories.

(sighs)

Somewhere, someplace, where one person has someone.
Someone they would do anything for, die for.
Purpose to keep up that wardrobe, backgrounds.
Just a close body to melt with when the world ends.

Be / Poem by Gerald Blanchard

offerings

Yesterday, didn’t even feel like I was there.
I remember the waves, saying goodbye, watching worlds
go by. Quiet morning. My time traveler. Fell for that pull,
again. The smile, biceps, power, deep eyes, promises.

(PAUSE)

I looked for you, on the beach, for days. Wanting
you to be there. On a cliff, waving. Smelling that air.
As you cross your arms. I float in the slight breeze.
Gazing. In the distance, feeling beautiful.

(pause)

How many times have we been through this? You followed me.
To the waves, low plane, and us. Roaming on the edge
of the world. Isolated, we had each other. Sand wind smile
cracks. Promise of a meal shared later.

(pause

By fires, flames swirl. Shadows on his face, nothing talk.
Fog rolling over, still standing at the edge.Weren’t
we always somewhere else, sun warmth, favorite movie.Bodies
forming, what was your announcement? Spend just a little longer.

(pause)

Looking into the distance. Vehemence. Our names matched,
switched initials. Sign from the universe, to keep us here.
Sequester love, enjoy the distance.
We have a lifetime.

(pause)

I just want to get to your ocean, Feel that gust,
that missing kiss. Those green eyes, I had a plot-line.
Where you returned to tell me you were no longer the bad guy.
As the world crashes I wonder if I will ever have you again.

LONESOME / Poem by Gerald Blanchard

Portland

LONESOME
GERALD BLANCHARD

I lost my mind deep in silence. With

Others. Bend your soul. Did you mean

those kindly chosen words and yet…

Did you ever think of me beyond your walls?

(sighs)

Now, trapped in the kingdom. Ardor Dominion.

Our years went by. Lost in illusion. Spasm

moments. Heal wounds, break plot lines.

(wistful)

Nicknames, late nights. Spending time with

your sounds. Forgotten dreams, sweatpants.

Was I ever your man?

(looks away)

Said my name in a way I liked. Cute.

Was it our last night? Burned my spine,

created hesitancy, windshields.

That horizon.

(pause)

Remote landscapes, hair in a gust. Tugged

at my shades, it was night. Keep the bad

dreams away, you say. Taste of vanilla on

those lips, called me your baby boy.

(smiles)

Inferior, under your muscle,

I imagined you as an outline, really,

That had holes to fill.

(concerned)

What you told me last night.

Was it real? A sound, a whisper.

Of us fighting for those nights

Where we felt like different people.
